How We Do Business

Permissions and Comment Policy

“Who makes the rules?” This was a question to my first building principal at the Alternative Middle School in my area. My first principal then tried to explain the difference between “policy” and “procedure” to me. He said that the district makes policies, while the individual buildings designate procedures. Both terms seem applicable here, so let’s not get caught up in semantics. This page will outline the general way that “we do business” at Writing Mindset. As a teacher I encourage my students to be kind and fair to each other, as members of the Writing Mindset community, let’s do the same.

The dictionary defines both of these as:

Policy: a course or principle of action adopted or proposed by a government, party, business, or individual.

Procedure: an established or official way of doing something.
